HILL TAX BRIEFING: Tax ‘Blue Book’ Not Expected Until February

The Joint Committee on Taxation won’t release its “blue book” recapping last year’s tax changes until at least the middle of February, the committee’s chief of staff said Wednesday.

Thomas Barthold said the commingling of House and Senate versions of the retirement legislation in the year-end omnibus spending bill meant staff had to wait until the legislation was finalized to complete their analysis.

The committee is also putting together a list of technical fixes to legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act and the 2017 tax law.
