HILL TAX BRIEFING: Tax World Reacts to IRS Chief Counsel Nominee

Marjorie Rollinson—President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the IRS chief counsel’s office—comes with a resume that includes Big Four and international tax experience.

Rollinson, a longtime EY executive, worked at the IRS chief counsel’s office from 2013-2019. During that time she oversaw a team of 100 lawyers tasked with advising the IRS on international tax issues.

“I think she’s going to bring strong legal skills,” said David Kautter, who worked with Rollinson both at EY and in the government. “As much if not more impressive, I think, are her leadership skills.”
