HILL TAX BRIEFING: Warren Spars With 2020 Rivals Over Taxes

Last night’s Democratic presidential debate kicked off with questions about the House’s impeachment inquiry, but quickly shifted to discussions about health care and tax policy.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) was criticized by some of her opponents, including former Vice President Joe Biden and Mayor Pete Buttigieg, for failing to describe how she would pay for the Medicare for All plan she supports.

“Your signature, senator, is to have a plan for everything, except for this,” Buttigieg said.

Buttigieg, who instead supports a less-costly alternative he described as “Medicare for All Who Want It”, dinged Warren for failing to answer ...
