House Democrats want the SEC to shield small farmers from any reporting burdens in the agency’s potential plans to require large companies to disclose greenhouse gas emissions from their supply chains.
Climate disclosure rules should ensure family farmers can avoid providing detailed data about their emissions to large companies they supply, Rep. Cindy Axne of Iowa, Rep. Jim Costa of California and other Democrats told Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler in a letter Friday.
