House GOP Interior Spending Bill Stresses Trump’s Energy Agenda

House Republicans are proposing $15.24 billion for the Interior Department’s budget in fiscal year 2027 amid a push to expand oil and gas drilling and critical mineral mining on federal lands.

Republican appropriators say Interior’s proposed fiscal year 2027 budget is $694 million higher than what Congress enacted last year. The energy and water budget proposal, which came out last week, also includes $1.861 billion for the Interior Department. The Trump administration requested $15.9 billion for the department’s budget.
