House GOP Leaders Question Treasury’s Racial Equity Committee

House Republican leaders have expressed concern over the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity, saying the panel could worsen the Biden administration’s “politicization” of the agency.

In a letter this week to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, lawmakers asked Yellen to provide information by Oct. 21 on how many applications Treasury received for the committee, which members served as political appointees, and whether members will have access to some types of IRS and Treasury data.
