House Panel’s Votes Could Go All Night

House Republicans will start voting on their $3.7 trillion tax cut bill today, giving Democrats a chance to poke holes in it.

The Ways and Means Committee will gather in its cavernous hearing room Tuesday afternoon to start marking up committee Chair Jason Smith’s (R-Mo.) legislation to extend and build upon President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts—the centerpiece of Republicans’ budget bill they hope to send to the Senate next week.
