House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal has set a July 25 meeting to discuss historical documents protected under tax code Section 6103.
The code section gives Neal (D-Mass.) the authority to seek President Donald Trump’s tax returns. The panel is seeking six years of Trump’s personal and business tax returns, which the administration has so far refused to hand over.
The July 23 announcement didn’t include any additional detail about the documents to be considered.
