Hunt for Tax Revenue Shows Need for Digital Taxation, OECD Says

Governments’ need for tax revenue to plug budget holes caused by the coronavirus pandemic strengthen the case for coordinated digital taxation, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

“We will all be heavier with debt: Debt of governments, debt of companies, and debt of households,” OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria said at the Bloomberg Invest Global virtual conference on Monday. “Post Covid, everybody’s going to be looking for money and the best thing that can happen to these companies is to have legal certainty.”
