Illinois’s general funds revenue from state sources in September increased 8% from a year earlier to $5.28 billion on higher collections from sales, personal and corporate income taxes, according to a report Wednesday from the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability.
- Personal income tax collections in September rose 9.7% year-over-year to $2.36 billion
- Corporate income tax collections in the month increased 13.6% to $1.28 billion
- Sales taxes in September gained 5.6% to $963 million
- Revenue from state sources has increased 8.7% to just over $12 billion in the year-to-date in the fiscal year that started July 1
