Income Tax Reform Committee to Be Created After May 1: Motta

Special committee that will discuss the exemption from Income Tax for those who earn up to R$5,000 per month will only be installed after the May 1st holiday, Lower House speaker Hugo Motta said in interview.

• Motta has discussed the schedule with the proposal’s rapporteur, deputy Arthur Lira
• Depending on proposal for compensation for the exemption, the text will have to be approved in both Houses by September 30 for the measure to be valid in 2026
