India is evaluating its stance on the global tax deal now that the US effectively pulled out of it, a senior Indian official said Tuesday.
“The US exit has added a whole lot of uncertainty,” said Tuhin Kanta Pandey, India’s finance secretary. Pandey spoke during a conference organized by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India, or Assocham.
“We have to now evaluate because it doesn’t work if the US is not into it,” Pandey said. He did not say if it meant India would also pull out of the deal.
