Indiana Governor Signs Law Expanding Property Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans

The Indiana Governor signed HEA 1210, expanding property tax relief for Indiana veterans and strengthening taxpayer protections. The legislation provides a 100 percent homestead property tax deduction for totally disabled veterans, eliminating property tax liability on their primary residence. Eligible surviving spouses who do not remarry also qualify. The law also establishes new local property tax credits, including a $350 credit for wartime veterans with at least a 10 percent service-connected disability and a $250 credit for veterans age 62 or older with at least a 10 percent disability.
