International Regulations Under GOP Tax Law Coming by Year-End

The Trump administration plans to publish proposed regulations on all the international provisions in Republicans’ 2025 tax law by the end of this year, a top Treasury official said Thursday.

“We will be issuing proposed regulations for everything, whether it’s a ’25 or ’26 effective date, by the end of the year in 2026,” said Kevin Salinger, deputy assistant secretary of tax policy at the Treasury Department.

And for provisions in the new law that have a 2025 effective date, the government hopes to finalize those regulations by the end of 2026, he added.
