Melanie Krause, acting commissioner of the IRS for less than two months, announced her last day at the agency was Wednesday, according to an email seen by Bloomberg Tax.
“After 3½ memorable and engaging years of working with all of you, the decision to start a new chapter wasn’t an easy one but it is the right one for me and my family at this juncture,” Krause said in her email to all IRS employees. She is now going on leave, according to the email.
