Hunter Biden Tax Probe Whistleblower Named to a Top IRS Post (1)

Gary Shapley, an IRS employee who spoke out against the agency’s handling of the Hunter Biden tax investigation, has been named deputy chief of the agency’s criminal investigation division.

The move comes after the Treasury Department said Tuesday that Shapley and Joseph Ziegler would become senior advisers to the department.

At the same time, they are accused of illegally disclosing Hunter Biden’s personal tax information in litigation that is ongoing.

Both testified before Republican-led House Committees. Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee called their testimony selective and said Republicans were using their testimony to promote claims not verifiable.
