The AICPA Aug. 10 release comments sent to the IRS on the reduced service through the Practitioner Priority Service telephone line and the impact such reduced service has on tax professionals’ interactions with IRS on behalf of taxpayers. The AICPA centered its comments around 4 areas: (1) Power of Attorney (POA) Issues; (2) Transcripts; (3) Accounts Management (AM) versus Automated Collection (ACS); and (4) General Recommendations.
