The much-anticipated hydrogen production tax credit final rules could come out by the end of the year, an IRS official said.
The Treasury Department and IRS issued proposed rules in December on the Section 45V hydrogen production tax credit, which was established in the 2022 tax-and-climate law known as the Inflation Reduction Act.
Richard Blumenreich, a special counsel at the IRS Office of Associate Chief Counsel, said during a Tuesday panel at a Practising Law Institute conference that he’s hopeful the regulations will be finalized in the coming months, likely at the end of the year.
