IRS Appeals Office Chief Retires After Three Decades at Agency

The IRS’s Office of Appeals Chief Donna Hansberry has retired, the agency said in a Dec. 20 news release.

Hansberry joined the Independent Office of Appeals—an internal organization that resolves taxpayer disputes without litigation—in 2016 and oversaw its expansion. She had worked at the agency for more than 33 years, the IRS said.

  • She will be temporarily replaced by her deputy, Andy Keyso, who will serve as acting chief, until a permanent successor is chosen.
