The IRS is looking to hire hundreds of new employees for its Independent Office of Appeals heading into fiscal 2024.
The office has about 1,550 employees and wants to boost that number to roughly 2,000 people for the next fiscal year, said Darlena Billops-Hill, director of the examination appeals function within the agency’s Independent Office of Appeals, at a Wednesday Tax Executive Institute conference in New York City.
