The Internal Revenue Service appointed Brendan O’Dell to coordinate the agency’s investigations into promoters of aggressive tax arrangements.
- O’Dell is currently a senior advisor in the IRS Large Business & International division. He will serve in a temporary capacity while the agency looks for someone to fill the position permanently, the IRS says in a press release
- The IRS has increasingly focused on identifying and pursuing individuals who promote aggressive tax deals, such as syndicated conservation easements
