The Center for Taxpayer Rights called on the IRS to take a more supportive approach over an enforcement agency approach to helping taxpayers leverage appropriate tax credits and deductions in the agency’s 2023-2031 Strategic Operating Plan.
The center said filers need more live support for issues that can’t be handled by automated systems and that the agency’s approach to handling issue resolution is violating taxpayers rights, in a comment letter written on behalf of members of the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic community.
