IRS Axes Transformation Office Created to Modernize the Agency

The IRS is disbanding its Transformation and Strategy Office and reevaluating projects that were fueled by funding from the 2022 tax-and-climate law.

“During this transition, we are reviewing projects and initiatives under the IRS Strategic Operating Plan to determine their status and ensure alignment with future priorities,” IRS Acting Commissioner Melanie Krause said in an email to employees Friday and seen by Bloomberg Tax. The IRS declined to comment.
