IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig has a simple message for tax practitioners: “We want your help.”
Rettig, during remarks at a tax conference hosted by the USC Gould School of Law in Los Angeles, urged tax pros to consider working with the IRS and to offer advice about what the agency should do in response to the Taxpayer First Act (Pub. L. 116-25). That 2019 law, intended to improve agency operations and customer service, requires the agency to submit to Congress a plan for a potential reorganization.
