IRS Crime Unit Ends Investigation Into Tax Firm With DC Ties

The IRS criminal unit’s 2022 investigation of consulting firm alliantgroup has been closed with no action taken, the firm said Monday.

Alliantgroup, a consulting firm with deep ties to the IRS and Capitol Hill, was probed by the agency’s criminal investigation in May 2022. It’s unclear what prompted the investigation as agency officials at the time said the search warrant was sealed. Company officials declined to discuss details of the probe.

“Alliantgroup looks forward to continuing its work assisting U.S. businesses to grow and thrive,” the firm said in a statement.
