The IRS’s cybersecurity program wasn’t considered to be “fully effective” by a fiscal 2022 review conducted by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.
The agency’s program was “generally aligned” with various federal guidelines, but the program was found to be not effective in 17 of 20 core inspector general metrics, TIGTA said in a report released Thursday.
