Maha Williams, deputy commissioner of the Small Business and Self Employed Division at the IRS, retired Friday after nearly 25 years at the agency.
Williams helped lead the division that assists small-business owners and self-employed taxpayers. She oversaw about 24,000 IRS employees.
“She provided steadfast leadership, mentored countless employees and advocated for SB/SE managers, employees and taxpayers,” SB/SE Commissioner Lia Colbert said in an email to the division’s employees Friday and seen by Bloomberg Tax.
