Taxpayers can now check the status of their audits and tax refund, and get access to lien information without having to call the IRS—all improvements that came about from tax-and-climate law funding, the IRS said.
“We will build on these improvements in the months ahead,” IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said in a press call Wednesday touting agency advances made with the funding infusion. He added that for this progress to continue, the IRS must maintain consistent annual appropriations and the funding from that 2022 law, also called the Inflation Reduction Act.
