IRS Direct File State Integration Succeeded, Nonprofit Says (1)

State integration of the IRS’s pilot government-run tax filing tool was successful for New York and Arizona, an agency partner said in a report Tuesday.

Code for America, a civic tech nonprofit, partnered with the IRS to build a state tax filing tool that allowed taxpayers to file for free in their state after submitting their federal returns with Direct File. This filing season the nonprofit built a state tool called FileYourStateTaxes for New York and Arizona.
