IRS Director of Online Services Moves to Treasury After Leave

Karen Howard, the executive director of online services at the IRS, is moving to a similar role at the Treasury Department, she announced on LinkedIn this week.

Howard was part of a second wave of leaders at the IRS who were put on administrative leave in August. The IRS has seen significant turnover in its top ranks with many leaders choosing to exit the agency with others put on leave.

Revamping how the IRS uses technology remains a priority for Treasury as it tries to phase out its outdated systems and reduce its reliance on paper.
