The IRS and conservation easement donor LakePoint agreed to ask a federal district court to extend the deadline for the agency to respond to a request for public documents, in a joint motion Friday.
LakePoint alleged in a lawsuit that the agency didn’t make a timely decision regarding the donor’s request for public documents. The court said in July that the IRS needed to respond by Sept. 1.
Both parties asked the US District Court for the District of Columbia in their joint motion to push the deadline to Oct. 6.
