IRS Evaluating Compliance Assurance Process, Official Says

The IRS is reviewing its compliance assurance process for large corporations to help identify improvements and issues sooner, especially those related to cross-border activity, an official said Thursday.

The compliance assurance process was created by the agency’s Large Business and International Division to evaluate compliance of a select group of taxpayers in real time, prior to filing of tax returns.

The internal review is to identify opportunities for efficiency in the examination process, among other things, Deborah Palacheck, director of cross-border activities, said at the Institute on Current Issues in International Taxation conference. ...
