Individuals and businesses in parts of Florida affected by Hurricane Idalia this week qualify for tax relief, the IRS said Wednesday.
Taxpayers in areas designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency have until Feb. 15, 2024 to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.
In addition, penalties for the failure to make payroll and excise tax deposits due between Aug. 27, 2023 and Sept. 11, 2023, will be abated if the deposits are made by Sept. 11, 2023, the agency said.
