IRS Failed to Timely Provide Land Donation Records, Company Says

An investment company is suing the IRS over the agency’s failure to provide documents on conservation easements sought under a Freedom of Information Act request, according to a complaint filed with a federal district court.

Ornstein-Schuler Investments LLC, a Georgia company that offers investments in partnerships involved in conservation easements, filed a complaint Monday with the US District Court for the District of Columbia, alleging that the IRS didn’t timely respond to the company’s FOIA request and failed to release its records related to the government’s valuations of property in certain estate and conservation easement tax cases.
