Draft Form 8979, Partnership Representative Revocation, Designation, and Resignation, released August 14 to provide methods for partnerships to designate a partnership representative (PR) under 2015 Bipartisan Budget Act (BBA) generally effective for returns filed for partnership taxable years beginning after December 31, 2017. The BBA procedures replaced the tax matters partner under TEFRA with the PR. [IRS Form 8979]
