House Republicans approved on a party-line vote a funding bill that proposes deep cuts to agencies including the Internal Revenue Service and delves into laws specific to Washington, D.C.

The Financial Services-General Government appropriations bill advanced 34-26, after Democrats spent hours seeking to add provisions including undoing the bill’s restrictions on the District of Columbia and the IRS, and on immigration and cannabis.
