The IRS is more than halfway through its goal of hiring 600 agents in both the global high-wealth and pass-through entities units.
The agency has had success in hiring mid-career people from accounting firms and has moved people from within the IRS, Clifford Scherwinski, director of pass-through entities, said Tuesday during a panel at the AICPA & CIMA National Tax Conference in Washington, DC.
“Our goal here this year is to bring all those diverse perspectives and experiences together to create a very focused workforce,” Scherwinski said during the panel.
