IRS Grants Tax Relief for Oregon Wildfires

The IRS is granting tax relief for those affected by recent wildfires in Oregon.

Businesses and individuals will now have until Jan. 15, 2021 to file their tax returns, the IRS announced Thursday—pushing back the coronavirus-postponed October deadline.

Relief is automatically available for Oregon taxpayers living in Clackamas, Douglas, Jackson, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, and Marion counties—which have all been declared federal disaster areas by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Localities added later will automatically get the same relief.
