The IRS must reverse its guidelines that are leading to years in delays in payments to whistleblowers and discouraging them from coming forward, the National Whistleblower Center said in a letter to US lawmakers.
Many whistleblowers have waited over 10 years for an award—"and thanks to the partial award/multiple actions rule – they are looking at waiting years and years more for an award to be issued,” NWC said in its April 19 letter to Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).
