The IRS issued a news release reminding taxpayers who missed the filing deadline that they may still file their 2025 federal income tax return at no cost through IRS Free File. The IRS stated that more than 109 million taxpayers are eligible for free guided tax preparation software if their adjusted gross income is $89,000 or less, while others may use Free File Fillable Forms.
