IRS Kicking Off Partnership Audit Program Later This Year

The IRS plans to begin auditing large partnerships later in the year as part of a new program, after onboarding around 50 new specialists earlier this week, an official said.

The Large Partnership Compliance Program—the partnership equivalent to a similar program for corporations in the IRS’s Large Business and International Division—will target the largest partnerships with the help of data analytics to select tax returns for audits, said Holly Paz, director of LB&I’s Pass-Through Entities Practice Area.
