The IRS must continue its efforts to make electronic tax filing easier and more transparent for all Americans, the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee said in its annual report Wednesday.
The voluntary advisory group made 26 recommendations covering several aspects of the taxpayer journey, from understanding obligations and collecting documentation to filing and receiving assistance.
Also Wednesday, IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel highlighted progress the IRS has made as a result of last year’s Inflation Reduction Act, including better customer service for taxpayers and more research into an IRS free tax-filing tool.
