IRS Names David Padrino Chief Transformation, Strategy Officer

David Padrino has been named the chief transformation and strategy officer at the IRS, the agency said Friday.

The recently created role is intended to lead improvement efforts under Inflation Reduction Act funding, according to the agency.

The IRS is using a slice of the tends of billions it got from the tax-and-climate law to upgrade its decades-old technology systems.

Padrino served as the chief transformation office at the federal Office of Personnel Management, the IRS said.
