IRS News Release: Filing, Payment Deadlines Postponed for Victims of Storms, Tornadoes, Flooding in Tennessee (IRC §7508A)

Tax return filing and payment deadlines for victims of severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding in parts of Tennessee have been postponed, the IRS announced May 14. The tax relief postpones various tax filing and payment deadlines falling on or after March 25, 2021, and before August 2, 2021. As a result, affected individuals and businesses will have until August 2, 2021, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during this period, including the May 17 income tax return due date, the IRS noted.
