The IRS issued a memorandum highlighting changes aimed at reducing case cycle times for corporate taxpayers, making examinations more customer-driven, consistent, and efficient, the IRS announced. The IRS said that the memo provides guidance for: 1) phasing out the Acknowledgement of Facts Information Document Request process in examinations by 2026; 2) expanding use of the Accelerated Issue Resolution process to large corporate cases; and 3) requiring stronger review of Fast Track Settlement denials.
