Sixth batch of Economic Impact Payments (EIPs) under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 contain 2 million payments, the IRS announced. The sixth batch of payments began processing on Friday, April 16, with an official payment date of April 21, with some people receiving direct payments in their accounts earlier as provisional or pending deposits, the IRS stated. The IRS provided further breakdown by type of recipients. Taxpayers who don’t normally file tax returns can claim their EIP by filing a return for 2020 and claiming the Recovery Rebate Credit, the IRS provided. [IR-2021-92 (Apr. 22, 2021)]
