The IRS wants to create a new division dedicated to improving the taxpayer experience with expanded digital offerings and more focused training for agency employees, according to a report required by an agency reform law.
The 2019 Taxpayer First Act (Pub. L. 116-25) calls for the IRS to upgrade the taxpayer experience, improve employee training, and potentially reorganize. The report for Congress, released Monday, lays out recommendations for achieving those goals.
