IRS Chief Counsel Marjorie Rollinson said she is confident that agency regulations will hold up to legal challenges in the wake of a US Supreme Court ruling this summer ending a doctrine that empowered federal regulators.
“My focus on guidance is seen through a slightly different lens at this point,” Rollinson said, speaking at a California Lawyers Association tax conference Thursday. “We will continue to write guidance. We will continue to write regulations.”
