The Internal Revenue Service will hold a Feb. 14 hearing on a capital gains tax break created in the tax overhaul, one of two hearings it scheduled shortly after reopening this week.
In Jan. 29 notices, the IRS announced that date for a hearing on the tax law’s opportunity zones program, which provides the capital gains benefit, and announced a Feb. 13 hearing on the law’s global intangible low-taxed income (GILTI) provision.
The agency had canceled an earlier hearing on the opportunity zones provision because of the government shutdown, which ended Jan. 25.
