Some IRS efforts to implement recommendations to improve its data privacy haven’t been entirely effective, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said in a new report.
TIGTA made six recommendations to the IRS in 2019 about how the agency can strengthen its privacy program, and the IRS has successfully addressed four of them. But the agency needs to do more to address the other two recommendations, TIGTA said.
